Last week’s Dynamite saw Sting team with Darby Allin vs. Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in an excellent Tornado tag team match; however not everything went to plan, and Sting would come up short on a dive, which saw him hit his mouth, leaving him bloody. Thankfully though, he was able to finish the contest, and afterward would tell fans in attendance he expected he would need stitches and one of his teeth was loose. And now, during an interview with Busted Open, Allin has provided an update on his tag partner and mentor, confirming that the WCW legend is doing OK.
“He’s actually doing great. We talked the day after, and he said he was feeling great, which is awesome because I pulled him aside after that match and said, ‘Yo, just be honest with me, how are you feeling? Not just your mouth but your neck, every single thing about your body.’”
Darby AllinDue to a neck injury, Sting retired in 2015, and few thought he would ever even contemplate wrestling again. That though changed when he signed with AEW and decided to test himself in a cinematic street fight where he could be protected. That match would go so well that he returned to the ring for the first time in May 2021 and hasn’t looked back since. And while he is expected to retire for good once his AEW deal expires this year, it does look like he still has a few matches left.
