Last November, it became known that Kamille, who had held the NWA World Women’s Championship for a staggering 812 days, would soon be a free agent, with her NWA contract about to expire. Subsequently, it was confirmed that she had opted to not renew with Billy Corgan’s promotion, and it was reported WWE had offered her a contract to join NXT. However, it was later confirmed that she actually opted to sign with AEW, and now ahead of Double or Nothing, Kamille has teased an appearance at the pay-per-view by tweeting out a gambling reference.
31-year-old Kamille has been with the NWA since 2018 when she initially debuted as Nick Aldis’ insurance policy. Yet since then, she has worked hard to establish herself to wrestling fans and even appeared on AEW television in 2021 as part of the NWA’s then-working relationship with Tony Khan’s promotion. Still, having signed a full-time contract with AEW, she now appears poised to become the star many predicted she would be ever since first breaking into the business in 2017.
