In news that few people saw coming, Vince Russo has joined Juggalo Championship Wrestling as both a performer and writer. The belief is that the promotion’s owners, ICP, and specifically Violent J, want to take the company to the next level, which is why Russo has joined. And while this will almost certainly require bigger-name talent, it appears Russo may be aiming a little too high, as he has requested on X that Drew McIntyre contact him once his WWE contract expires, following his latest defeat in a championship match.
For those unfamiliar with JCW, formerly known as Juggalo Championsh*t Wrestling, it is a hardcore wrestling promotion inspired by ECW that has run over 200 shows, many of which were aligned with ICP concerts. Currently, cards feature talents like Matt Cardona, James Storm, Kenny King, Haley J, and Big Vito, although over the course of the promotion’s history, some of the biggest names ever have wrestled on shows, including Terry Funk, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, DDP, Dusty Rhodes, and Abdullah the Butcher. Still, the idea of McIntrye working for the company seems wildly optimistic, even if he was promised to be the face of the company.
