Murielle Misczak, a former director of a Brooklyn daycare center, has pleaded guilty in federal court to wire fraud after embezzling more than $2.75 million in tuition payments from her employer. Between 2022 and 2025, she misused her access to the center’s bank accounts, diverting funds to finance a lavish lifestyle. Court records show this includes spending over $350,000 on WWE event tickets, with hundreds of thousands more going toward travel, luxury goods, and personal expenses.

Under federal wire fraud laws, Misczak now faces a maximum of 20 years in prison. Her sentence will be driven by the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines, where the massive $2.75 million loss alone adds 16 to 18 offense levels. Further increases are also likely for abuse of a position of trust and the sophisticated means she used, though her guilty plea could earn credit for acceptance of responsibility.
