Rick Boogs was part of WWE’s mass roster cuts earlier this week, and now, in a YouTube video, he has revealed that he feels his release was part of a “backstage political power play.” And while he wouldn’t go into further detail, and what he was referring to clearly needs to be clarified, he does promise to provide more information in the future.
“It’s been an interesting time in my life with my job in WWE being terminated due to a backstage political power play, at least, that’s my opinion of it. But now is not the time to talk about that. I will get into detail about that when the time is right,”
Rick BoogsBoogs, real name Eric Bugenhagen, is a former former collegiate wrestler who signed with WWE in 2017 after a successful tryout. Initially, as an NXT wrestler, he would be called up to SmackDown in 2021 and received his big break when put alongside Shinsuke Nakamura, where he played the Japanese star to the ring with an electric guitar. However, at the peak of his success, he suffered a torn quadriceps/patellar tendon injury while wresting at WrestleMania 38, which sidelined him for nine months.
