While not yet confirmed publicly by WWE, it has been reported by numerous sources that between 3 and 24 people who were at the Performance Center have tested positive for COVID-19. WWE will now tape both Raw and SmackDown on Friday and then do another set of tapings on Saturday. A big part of the reason for rescheduling is the shows need to be rewritten based on who is available.
WWE has only recently begun carrying out COVID-19 tests, initially preferring to do basic checks such as taking temperatures and asking if they had any symptoms. That though, changed when a trainee tested positive.
As previously reported, Roman Reigns, Sami Zayn, and Kevin Owens have all chosen to not attend tapings due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and this news will likely mean they remain away even longer.
