WWE has canceled their television taping scheduled for today following a developmental talent testing positive for COVID-19. While the person is unnamed, it is said to be a trainee and not an NXT television talent. Unlike AEW, who have been carrying out COVID-19 testing, WWE has not tested previously, preferring to carry out basic checks such as taking temperatures, which is now looking like a poor decision.
All talent, production crew, and employees who were at the last Tuesday’s NXT tapings with that person will be tested today. Then, if all test results come back negative WWE will have a massive set of tapings on Wednesday, recording next week’s episodes of Raw, SmackDown, NXT, and 205 Live.
WWE had begun letting a small group of fans into the Performance Center who had signed waivers saying they couldn’t sue if they contracted COVID-19. They were also told they couldn’t wear masks, but given the positive test, this could be reviewed.
