While speaking to legendary wrestling journalist Bill Apter, WWE Hall of Famer Jake “The Snake” Roberts has confirmed he has officially parted ways with All Elite Wrestling after a six-year run. Best known to newer fans for managing Lance Archer, Roberts spoke warmly of Tony Khan and the opportunity he was given, saying he loved his time with the company and praising the AEW president as “a breath of fresh air.” Roberts emphasized that he leaves with no bitterness or animosity, seemingly in line with the natural conclusion of his contract.
“Loved it. Loved it. I just finished up working for him [Tony Khan]. I’m no longer employed by AEW. He is awesome. He really is. A breath of fresh air.” – Jake Roberts
Roberts made his AEW debut in early 2020 by confronting Cody Rhodes on Dynamite before introducing Lance Archer as his client. From there, he guided the powerhouse through several major storylines, including the TNT Championship finals and world title opportunities. He later expanded into community outreach work and briefly mentored LFI. Additionally, throughout his run, the 1980s and ’90s icon provided valuable veteran insight both on-screen and behind the scenes, and will likely be missed by all who worked with him.
