Cradle Of Filth’s Dani Filth Brushes Off Former Members’ Lawsuit Claims

In a new interview, Cradle of Filth frontman Dani Filth has addressed the 2025 controversy surrounding his band, in which former members filed a lawsuit alleging unpaid royalties, inadequate compensation, and unauthorized use of their likenesses. And now, while speaking to Hot Metal, Filth firmly denied any wrongdoing, insisting the band had done nothing wrong and that the situation had been blown out of proportion. And now, while speaking to Hot Metal. Additionally, the veteran vocalist highlighted the group’s strong momentum, citing a successful American tour and packed summer festival shows.

In August 2025, guitarist Marek Šmerda and keyboardist Zoe Marie Federoff abruptly left Cradle of Filth, publicly citing low pay, excessive stress, and unprofessional management. Their departure quickly escalated into a formal lawsuit filed in Arizona, which was later expanded to include other ex-members, such as Paul Allender, Richard Shaw, Lindsay Matheson, and model Sasha Baxter. The plaintiffs claim they received no royalties for studio work on recent albums, and their images were exploited in merchandise and videos without consent or compensation.
