Last weekend, guitar virtuoso Nita Strauss married her longtime boyfriend and drummer Josh Villalta. She shared details of the wedding and celebration with People magazine.

Around 120 guests were at the ceremony including Alice Cooper, former WWE legend Mick Foley, Demi Lovato and Disturbed frontman David Draiman, who also performed at the reception. “I wanted simple and intimate — just us and our close loved ones — and (Josh) is more of a social butterfly and wanted to celebrate with all of his friends as well as our families,” Nita said. “We wound up somewhere in the middle.”

The wedding had a goth/glam vibe, according to People, and they wanted “the wedding to feel like ‘us.’ We didn’t want a cookie-cutter ceremony or reception that you could see in any bridal magazine — we wanted every aspect of the day and the experience to reflect us as a couple,” Nita said.

The wedding was officiated by Foley, and Cooper and his wife also did a reading at the ceremony. The couple’s first dance was to the Extreme classic “More Than Words.”

“We scheduled a live band karaoke set and invited all our guests to celebrate with song,” Nita told People. “Since most of our friends are musicians, it was a rocking reception!”

Nita continued: “A lot of our nearest and dearest friends and family never had the occasion to be in the same room at once, so having everyone all together was such a joyous occasion. Josh has said many times over the last nine years, ‘We’ve been together so long, we’re already married.’ And I’ve been the one saying, ‘No, we have to do the thing!’ So now we’ve truly done the thing, we’ve made it official, tied the knot, as long as we both shall live.”
