WWE Applies To Trademark Piper Niven’s New Ring Name

During Monday night’s episode of Raw, Eva Marie was set to make her in-ring return for WWE. However, instead, Scottish wrestler Piper Niven, who was accompanying her, took her place and quickly defeated Namoi. The commentators pretended not to know who Niven was despite her having competed in the Mae Young Classic in 2017 and NXT UK as recently as March, with it believed it was due to her about to undergo a name change.

It has now been confirmed that WWE has applied to trademark the name “Doudrop” for Niven. What the name means has not yet been disclosed, or exact pronunciation with some fans speculating it could be due to her size and pronounced dough-drop.

The belief is Eva Marie is set to receive a big push, and thus via association, so will Niven, who has been signed with WWE since 2019. Before that, she mainly wrestled on the UK independent circuit and was part of the ill-fated ITV relaunch of World of Sport.
