Journey keyboardist and hit songwriter Jonathan Cain has unleashed a sharp rebuke against Bruce Springsteen during a new interview, urging the rock legend to stop injecting politics into his music and simply appreciate being “Born in the USA.” The diehard conservative, married to Donald Trump’s senior advisor Paula White-Cain, labeled Springsteen an “annoying, bitter old man” who should “shut up.” As he prepares to release a new patriotic single, Cain argues that celebrities must focus on uniting fans through music rather than dividing them with partisan rants.
“I’m a diehard conservative, and guys like Bruce Springsteen should shut up. Honestly, shut up, Bruce … I mean, what the heck? I used to like him, and now he’s just annoying. He’s an annoying, bitter old man. I mean, stop it. Really. You were born in the USA, weren’t you, dude? So act like it. A staunch Trump supporter, Cain has performed Journey classics at Mar-a-Lago events and defended the president against what he calls unfair legal attacks. He continues releasing faith-based and patriotic anthems, including the upcoming 2026 track “The Winds of Freedom” for America’s 250th anniversary. When Journey’s farewell tour concludes, Cain plans to leave the band entirely to pursue ministry work and Christian music projects, while continuing to call out Hollywood elites for what he considers to be divisive political commentary.
