While speaking on his podcast, Rob Van Dam has opened up about the painful end of his long-term marriage. He admitted he fought desperately to save it, viewing divorce as a personal failure. Despite the heartbreak after more than 12 years together, Van Dam revealed he felt no bitterness when he learned his ex-wife had been involved with their maintenance man before the split. Instead, he expressed genuine relief, even thanking the man for removing what he called “toxic, hateful shit” from his life.
“I fought hard to try to keep my marriage going because I looked at it as being a failure, which maybe you did too as far as splitting goes. So, I really had no choice. I don’t even care that she was fcking the maintenance guy. I’m glad. I want to thank him for fcking taking that toxic, hateful shit away from me. I don’t ever need to see her again. And I was married for 12 years, something like that, maybe even longer.” – Rob Van Dam
The WWE Hall of Famer is now happily married to fellow wrestler Katie Forbes, with the couple tying the knot in November 2021 and becoming proud parents of twin daughters, Karma Star and Saba Zen, born on December 26, 2025, after a high-risk pregnancy. Although neither wrestler is currently very active in the ring, they remain involved in the business through content creation and Van Dam’s lucrative WWE Legends contract.
