While the big talking point coming out of Elimination Chamber was John Cena turning heel, Travis Scott legitimately punching Cody Rhodes, apparently rupturing his eardrum, also made headlines. Subsequently, many people online would call the rapper unprofessional, and Bully Ray went as far as to say on Busted Open that he “deserves to have his jaw shattered” and “hope I never see you,” suggesting he’d happily do this.
However, Scott appears to have at least one supporter in the business regarding this situation, as AEW’s Swerve Strickland, who knows Scott personally, has come to his defense, telling Bootleg Kev it happened due to “excitement and pressure.”
Some fans believe that if Cody Rhodes gets an opportunity to exact revenge on Scott at WrestleMania, then he should. Still, common sense suggests that a pro wrestler purposely harming a celebrity would be a terrible idea, with both Hulk Hogan and David Schultz knowing from personal experience how badly this can backfire from a financial and career standpoint. Therefore, it seems likely Scott has nothing to worry about unless he bumps into Bully Ray backstage.
