With her WWE contract having officially expired, Shotzi Blackheart returned to the indie scene this past weekend, competing for both Hoodslam and GCW. This would subsequently see multiple videos and photos of the former WWE wrestler taking brutal-looking bumps in thew crowd and even using a weedwhacker as a weapon in one match.

And while many fans were shocked to see someone so fresh off a WWE run work a deathmatch, Shotzi has defended this decision in the comments section of an Instagram post, claiming she actually made more money over the weekend than WWE paid her in a week.

While Shotzi had most recently been working on WWE’s NXT brand, it’s almost certain that she was on main roster money, given she was previously part of the SmackDown roster. Thus, given that lower-level main roster talents are paid in the region of $350,000, it appears Shotzi made circa $7,000 for her matches over the weekend. This, therefore, demonstrates there is life after WWE if someone is prepared to step outside of their comfort zone, which Shotzi has shown.
