Janel Grant has voluntarily dismissed her high-profile sex trafficking lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE. Court filings confirm that the parties stipulated to end the federal case with prejudice under Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A)(ii). This decision allows the entire dispute to move into private arbitration in accordance with their prior agreement. While the public court proceedings have now concluded, both sides fully retain the right to pursue their claims and defenses through the confidential arbitration process that will now ultimately resolve the matter.
“Pursuant to Federal Rule of Civil Procedure 41(a)(1)(A)(ii), Plaintiff Janel Grant, by and through her undersigned counsel, hereby files this voluntary dismissal of the above-captioned action. Plaintiff, Defendant World Wrestling Entertainment, LLC, and Defendant Vincent K. McMahon (together, the ‘Parties’) stipulate and agree that this action and all claims pled herein are hereby dismissed with prejudice, but without prejudice as to the Parties’ rights to pursue their claims and defenses in arbitration in accordance with their agreement to arbitrate.” – From The Court Filing
In January 2024, former WWE employee Janel Grant filed a lawsuit against Vince McMahon and WWE, accusing them of sexual assault, abuse, and sex trafficking during her employment from 2019 to 2022. She also sought to invalidate a 2022 nondisclosure agreement that had promised her three million dollars but was never fully paid. McMahon would subsequqntly deny every allegation but, within days, resigned from the company he had built into a global powerhouse, leaving his reputation in tatters.
