CM Punk Breaks Silence On Heartbreaking Reason For His Post-WrestleMania Absence

CM Punk has finally revealed the emotional truth behind his three-month absence from WWE following WrestleMania 42. While speaking to ESPN New York, the current WWE Champion initially described it as the first true vacation of his career, not due to injury or surgery. However, on a somber note, he went on to reveal he spent the time quietly at home with his wife, processing the deep personal loss he suffered when he lost three or four people very close to him.

It was the first time in my career I had time off without having to go get a surgery or be injured. I just hung out with my wife … I’m not going to say a rough year, because suffering is relative. I was Heavyweight Champion over on Raw for quite some time, and during that entire time I was champion, I had at least three or four people who were very close to me pass away. And each time, I was at work the next day.– CM Punk

After losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 42 and cutting a brief promo the following night on Raw, Punk vanished from television, triggering rampant speculation. Fans and reports circulated rumors of backstage conflicts, creative disagreements, contractual issues, a demanded pay cut, disciplinary problems, or even a potential jump to AEW. These theories dominated wrestling conversation for months until Punk clarified the break had nothing to do with professional drama. Instead, it was a much-needed personal reset to grieve and recharge.
