Gabbi Tuft Shares Big Update On Teased In-Ring Return

During a recent interview, Gabbi Tuft, previously known as Tyler Reks in WWE, revealed that she was considering returning to the ring as a performer. The 45-year-old, who transitioned from a man to a woman in 2021, has been shaking off the ring rust by training with AEW’s Dustin Rhodes. However, there was an issue with Tuft not knowing if she’d be medically cleared to compete due to having had open heart surgery back in 2019 following an aortic aneurysm. Yet it now appears the comeback is officially on, as Tuft confirmed on Instagram that her doctor has cleared her.

“Cleared. It’s no longer IF, it’s WHEN…And now WHO.”

Tuft entered the wrestling industry in 2007 and signed with WWE the following year. Initially, she was treated as a big deal in the promotions developmental territory FCW, but this success never transferred to the main roster. Still, it was a surprise when she quit the company in 2012, shortly after debuting a stripper gimmick alongside then-tag partner Curt Hawkins. At the time, she cited wanting to spend more time at home with her daughter Mia, who had been born the prior year and has remained out of business ever since, except for one indie match in 2014.
