Mike Tyson is currently training for his highly anticipated upcoming fight with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul on July 20th. However, it has worryingly been reported first by InTouchWeekly.com that Tyson suffered a medical emergency on Sunday when, during a flight from Miami to Los Angeles, a message had to be put out asking if a doctor was on board.
Subsequently, paramedics treated the 57-year-old pop culture icon once the plane landed at its destination. And while the specific details remain unclear, Tyson’s representatives have told the New York Post that he is currently “doing great” and the incident was related to an ulcer.
Mike Tyson’s impact extends beyond his boxing career. His involvement in the pro wrestling business has earned him a special place in the hearts of wrestling fans. His journey in wrestling began when Vince McMahon, recognizing his lifelong fandom, invited him to serve as a special guest enforcer for the WrestleMania 14 main event of Shawn Michaels vs. Steve Austin.
Tyson would then return over a decade later as a guest host of Raw, where he would team up with Chris Jericho against DX, turning on his partner by revealing a DX shirt. Then, in 2012, WWE honored Tyson by inducting him into the WWE Hall of Fame Celebrity Wing. Yet, despite his affiliation with WWE, he still had no problem working with AEW in the early days of the promotion, making his debut during the pandemic.
