Former TNA World Star Working Backstage For AEW

Sami Callihan has been working backstage at AEW’s television tapings for the past three weeks, according to Bodyslam.net. The veteran is serving as a backstage producer, helping coordinate production elements during the recent shows. However, it is believed that, as of writing, he has not yet signed a formal contract with the company. The development comes shortly after his release from TNA and has sparked speculation that the Death Machine could soon land a full-time position with AEW, where his close friend Jon Moxley also works.

Sources have confirmed to me that Sami Callihan has been working backstage the last three weeks for AEW’s Dynamite Tapings. … Additionally, it was noted that Callihan has seemingly been working as a backstage producer. When I asked if Callihan had officially signed a contract with All Elite Wrestling, sources related that ‘it doesn’t seem like he has a contract yet.’– Bodyslam.net

Callihan was a key figure in TNA from 2017 onward, capturing the Impact World Championship in 2019 and earning multiple Year-End Awards. Although he retired from in-ring competition in August 2025 after a loss to Mike Santana, he continued to thrive behind the scenes as a producer, agent, merch designer, and marketing contributor. He also founded and still operates Pro Wrestling Revolver, the successful Ohio-based independent promotion he launched in 2016, which has helped propel numerous rising stars.
