D-Von Dudley wrestled only his fourth match since 2016 at Bound For Glory earlier this month, teaming with Bubba Ray to put over the Hardys in a Tables match. Subsequently, it would be confirmed that the Dudley Boyz, also known as Team 3D, were no more, with D-Von having retired from the ring. And now, suggesting it was a wise decision given the fact he previously suffered a stroke and has undergone serious back surgery, the ECW original has revealed in a new interview that he sustained a shoulder injury during his farewell match.
D-Von, real name Devon Hughes, debuted in 1991, and thanks to ECW, he was soon considered a hardcore icon. Subsequently, he would be a prominent part of WWE’s Attitude Era, helping to put TLC matches on the map before becoming a TNA star during the promotion’s most high-profile days. Therefore, given his extensive experience, it’s unsurprising that he turned to coaching and is helping train the next generation of talent, including his twin sons Terrell and Terrence.
