Former AEW star CM Punk’s backstage behavior has been the hot topic of conversation in the wrestling work this past week, following an incident with Jack Perry at All In. And now it has been reported by BodySlam.net that this was just one of many such incidents involving the former WWE Champion, as he previously clashed with William Regal shortly after his AEW debut in March 2022.
“Multiple sources have confirmed to me details about an incident that took place between CM Punk and William Regal, which occurred when Regal made his AEW debut. In the altercation between the two, Punk refused to shake Regal’s hand, and would then get in the legends face, telling him that he did not like him, he did not trust him, and that Regal was a ‘stooge for Triple H.'”
Regal has since returned to WWE and holds the role of Vice President of Global Talent Development with the company. Therefore, if Punk were to return to WWE, which some have speculated, he would seemingly be shunned by some in power. However, it was previously uncovered that back in April 2023, Punk had a backstage visit to Raw in his hometown of Chicago and met with WWE creative head Triple H in an attempt to clear the air. Therefore, perhaps any ill-feeling is in the past, and the door is open for Punk and WWE to work together again.
