Backstage News On Why Andrade Has Disappeared From AEW Television

Following his shock WWE firing, Andrade returned to AEW, attacking Kenny Omega and joining the Don Callis Family. However, since then, the storyline hasn’t progressed, leaving fans wondering about the luchador’s AEW status.

And now it appears that Andrade may have actually re-debuted too soon, as Bryan Alvarez on Wrestling Observer Radio mentioned, “something is holding him up regarding his non-compete with WWE.” Precisely what this is remains unclear, but it sounds like Andrade and AEW didn’t believe he had a non-compete clause when, in fact, he does.

35-year-old Andrade previously worked for AEW from 2021 to 2023, and at times looked like he was heading towards the main event. Yet, injury and a backstage altercation with AEW original Sammy Guevara affected his standing in the company, meaning that when he departed, few were genuinely shocked. Still, sources indicate that Andrade actually parted ways with Tony Khan amicably, as proven by his re-signing.
