The joke on social media has been that AEW’s Forbidden Door pay-per-view was cursed with so many talents who were intended to be on the card now injured. And while this is easily laughed off, it’s now known that two wrestlers came out of the pay-per-view injured, as in addition to Adam Cole, who suffered a concussion, Dax Harwood has confirmed on Twitter he suffered a separated shoulder.
The injury seemingly occurred near the beginning of FTR’s match with United Empire and Roppongi Vice as he was taken backstage in the early stages of the bout, returning later with his shoulder taped. And at the time, some thought this was part of a storyline, but now we know he was legitimately hurt. Precisely how long this put the tag team specialist on the sidelines is unclear, although depending on the severity, it could be as long as three months.
AEW’s injury list is massive at present, with CM Punk, Bryan Danielson, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, Scorpio Sky, Jungle Boy, Kyle O’Reilly, Anthony Bowens, Darius Martin, Leyla Hirsch, Red Velvet, and The Bunny all currently unavailable to Tony Khan. However, with FTR likely to have been heavily featured on next month’s Ring of Honor show due to holding the promotions tag titles, losing Harwood will be a big blow to Khan.
