Adam Cole’s Forbidden Door Injury Revealed

Many fans have joked that AEW’s joint show with New Japan was cursed with so many of the wrestlers that were planned to compete at Forbidden Door ending up injured. And while the show is now over, it appears there is another injury connected to the pay-per-view, with Adam Cole reportedly having suffered a concussion, according to Bryan Alverez of F4Wonline.com.

This would have taken place during the four-way IWGP World Heavyweight title match and seemingly occurred during the bout’s conclusion when Kazuchika Okada dropkicked Cole before attempting to hit the Rainmaker, which saw Cole collapse after ducking the clothesline. At this point, Jay White, who had been on the outside, returned to the ring, hit Okada with a Bladerunner, and stole the pin on Cole.

This was Cole’s return to the ring since winning the Owen Hart Foundation Men’s Tournament at last month’s Double Or Nothing pay-per-view. Unfortunately, he came out of that show banged up, however, the precise nature of his injury was not confirmed, although it was known he was already dealing with a shoulder issue. Hopefully, though, Cole won’t miss much more time, as AEW can’t afford to lose him for an extended period with CM Punk, Kenny Omega, and Bryan Danielson also sidelined.
