Ridge Holland is currently recovering from surgery, having suffered a foot injury during a recent match with TNA’s Moose. And now, adding to his personal misery, the former Brawling Brutes member has announced on X that his WWE contract is not being renewed. This means he will now become a free agent in mid-November, and while WWE has said they will cover his rehab, he won’t be earning a salary while unable to work.
37-year-old Holland, real name Luke Menzies, decided to pursue pro wrestling in 2017 after being a journeyman rugby league player in his home country of England. Subsequently, he signed with WWE the following year and looked set to get every opportunity to be a star. Yet, after accidentally breaking Big E’s neck during an episode of SmackDown, fans would turn on him, resulting in him frequently receiving online abuse and even occasional death threats.
