This past weekend, Goldberg headlined Saturday Night’s Main Event, putting over Gunther in what was promoted as the WCW legends’ retirement match. And while this was arguable, Goldberg’s best match in a decade, he has since vented his frustration during an interview with Ariel Helwani, admitting he was “pissed off” with the build and the fact that his post-match speech got cut off.
However, while some fans have sided with Goldberg, it appears Peter Rosenberg isn’t amongst them, with the radio DJ and WWE personality taking to X to say, “You should be thanking your lucky stars for the money you’ve made and the appreciation you’ve gotten, which many don’t even feel is fully deserved.”
According to 58-year-old Goldberg, former WWE head honcho Vince McMahon had promised him a retirement match in exchange for putting over Roman Reigns at short notice. Hence, when this didn’t occur, the former football player would go as far as to call the disgraced billionaire “a piece of sh*t” during one interview. Still, once McMahon departed the company, Triple H decided to deliver on the promise even though Goldberg and he previously had real-life heat.
