Earlier this week the promoter of the upcoming HorrorHound convention announced that WWE Hall of Famer Jerry Lawler wouldn’t be attending “due to some personal matters.” At the time fans weren’t overly concerned as cancellations regularly occur. However in a depressing update, TMZ has now reported the 75-year-old has suffered his third stroke since 2018.
Lawler began wrestling in 1970 and, since then, had wrestled every year up until and including 2023. Yet, due to his second stroke, which was described as “massive,” he didn’t wrestle in 2024, which meant his impressive 53-year streak of being an active wrestler ended without any fanfare. Still, given his highly publicized health issues, it is probably for the best he finally called it a day
