In recent years, 81-year-old Afa Anoa’i, best known to wrestling fans for being part of the legendary Wild Samoans tag team, has been dealing with various health issues. And sadly, on Friday evening, it was revealed via his official Facebook Page that he is currently hospitalized, having suffered two heart attacks while dealing with pneumonia. However, in more positive news, he has now shared a video where he thanks fans for their prayers and says he is going to be okay.
Afa broke into the business back in 1973 after being trained by Peter Maivia, the grandfather of The Rock. He, along with tag partner Sika, would subsequently travel all over the world and capture 21 tag team championships, three of which were the WWF World Tag Team Championship during their career. This would see them honored by WWE in 2007 when they were inducted into their Hall of Fame. And while they have been out of the spotlight for many years, they would appear at Hell in a Cell in 2020 to celebrate Roman Reigns’ victory over Jey Uso.
