Former NXT Wrestler Makes His AEW Debut Against Rush On Collision

While AEW announced ahead of time that former NXT wrestlers the Grizzled Young Veterans would be wrestling on Collision, most fans were surprised to see Martin Stone, best known as Danny Burch in WWE, also compete on the show. However, the British wrestler was easily beaten by a returning Rush in a short match, indicating that the second-generation luchador is in for a push, having not competed on AEW television since December.

42-year-old Stone is best known for his WWE runs, during which he was part of their NXT brand and held the NXT Tag Team Champion title with Oney Lorcan. However, the company released him on January 5, 2022, with many suspecting at the time it was due to his age, as NXT was then focusing on younger talent with main roster potential.
