WWE is currently building up John Cena vs. Logan Paul for Clash in Paris, with the YouTuber-turned-wrestler upping the ante by laying out the WWE legend during a backstage segment that aired during this week’s SmackDown. However, after Paul embarrassingly failed to connect during the initial version, which aired internationally on Netflix, WWE would re-film the punch from a different angle, airing this version to fans watching on the USA Network later in the evening.
30-year-old Paul initially debuted for WWE as a guest of Sami Zayn’s on SmackDown in April 2021, resulting in him being ringside for Zayn’s WrestleMania 37 match with Kevin Owens. Then, following further guest appearances, he would step into the ring as The Miz’s tag team partner against Rey and Dominik Mysterio at WrestleMania 38. Since then, he has faced names like Roman Reigns, LA Knight, and Cody Rhodes in high-profile singles matches, winning over wrestling fans thanks to his impressive performances while also getting WWE mainstream publicity.
