In unexpected news, Andrade has revealed during an interview with Sportskeeda WrestleBinge that he is set to return to the ring for Puerto Rico promotions WWC’s upcoming Lockout show. This is despite Andrade still having 9 months left on his WWE non-compete, as his lawyer secured last-minute approval from the company, allowing his participation only at this event. Andrade would also express his hope of returning to AEW soon, where he made a memorable re-debut by attacking Kenny Omega.
WWE fired Andrade in September 2025 after multiple Wellness Policy violations were reported. Subsequently, he returned to AEW on October 1, initiating a feud with Omega and aligning with the Don Callis Family. However, at that point, WWE decided to enforce a 12-month non-compete clause, which was triggered by the “for cause” termination in their modern contracts, and issued AEW a cease-and-desist order. The belief now is that Andrade, while never actually signing an AEW contract, he will do so once the clause expires or WWE gives permission.
