The belief coming out of Saturday Night’s Main Event was that current Money In The Bank briefcase holder Seth Rollins suffered a knee injury during his match with LA Knight. However, despite him being spotted backstage on crutches and Triple H claiming it “doesn’t look good,” John Pollock has now claimed that it is an elaborate work.
According to the PostWrestling.com journalist on his podcast, he was told about the injury angle beforehand, and believes it’s being done so Rollins can cash in at SummerSlam. Of course, now that this news has been reported, WWE may look to change plans, but it certainly would have made for a shocking moment on the show.
Rollins famously made history a decade ago when he used his Money In The Bank contract to turn Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 31 into a triple-threat match. This would see Rollins win his first WWE World Heavyweight Championship and establish himself as a genuine main event talent. Therefore, it makes sense for WWE to want Rollins’ upcoming cash-in to be just as memorable, which would be the case if everyone thought he was genuinely injured.
