Why Gunther Couldn’t Travel To Saudi Arabia For Crown Jewel Revealed

Gunther isn’t booked for this Saturday’s Crown Jewel event in Saudi Arabia, and now, during an interview with Krone, he has revealed the reason. The Austrian isn’t currently allowed to leave the United States for the next six months due to strict residency regulations, with him having recently relocated to Florida along with his wife, former NXT UK talent Jinny. Therefore, this means that in addition to Crown Jewel, he will also miss Elimination Chamber in Australia next February.

36-year-old Gunther, real name Walter Hahn, broke into the business in 2005 and signed with WWE in 2019 after making his name in Europe. Subsequently, he has become the longest-reigning Intercontinental Champion in history, having defeated Ricochet on SmackDown for the championship back in June 2022. Therefore, his absence will be felt at both Crown Jewel and Elimination Chamber; however, it is out of WWE’s hands.
