While Mr. Iguana has worked in the United States before, his career has reached new heights after wrestling at AAA and WWE’s joint Worlds Collide show this past weekend. In fact, to many, his performance would steal the show with his absurd gimmick of having a toy iguana as a pet, getting him over with both fans in attendance and those watching at home. And now, indicating that WWE management is fully aware they have the potential to capture lightning in a bottle, Fightful Select has reported there is now a push for him to appear on NXT.
36-year-old Mr. Iguana broke into his business in 2009, and after initially working for CMLL in 2015, he would go on to perform for their rivals, AAA, in 2018, which eventually became his home promotion. Yet, while even in the often outrageous work of lucha libre, his gimmick is considered eccentric, it has allowed him to stand out and could lead to him becoming one of the most unexpected WWE Superstars ever.
