W. Morrissey Possibly Undergoes Name Change Ahead of Rampage

William Morrissey joined AEW full-time ahead of the August 31, 2022, episode of AEW Dynamite, where he aligned with Stokely Hathaway and since then has been part of The Firm. And while he came to fame as Big Cass in WWE, fans had just started to get used to his W. Morrissey name. Now though it appears they have another name to familiarise themselves with, a tweet by AEW ahead of Rampage seemingly has confirmed he has undergone another name change. With him now simply being called “Big Bill.”

At one time, it appeared that Morrissey’s wrestling career was over due to him suffering from mental health issues and an alcohol addiction following his WWE release in June 2018. Yet, he fought hard to recover and returned to the ring after almost 18 months away in February 2021 on an independent show. He’d be the surprise tag partner for Hernandez facing Luke and Perry Hawx, but beforehand he’d make the save for his former WWE tag partner Enzo Amore. He’d then go on to compete in several singles matches on the indies, proving he was in good health, both mentally and physically, before signing with Impact Wrestling in April 2021 and being a prominently featured performer for them before joining AEW.
