Recently, there has been a lot of speculation regarding Ricky Stark’s future, with him not having been featured on AEW television since March. Additionally, when you add that his contract is believed to be expiring later this year, many suspect he may be intending to join his close friend Cody Rhodes in WWE. And now that talk has increased on social media after he defended CM Punk during a new interview with WhatCulture.
“I have no issues with Punk, I don’t give a fuck what anybody tries to tell me, I don’t care. He has never done me wrong, and you can have your opinions on him, but you shouldn’t vilify someone for thinking differently than you. And I will say that until I’m blue in the face.”
Ricky Starks34-year-old Starks signed with AEW in 2020 after impressing Tony Khan and Cody Rhodes during his tryout match on Dynamite, which was also part of Rhodes’ open challenge for the AEW TNT Championship. Subsequently, he became very good friends with his opponent on the night, which led some to claim that his long-term future could be in WWE. Yet, while that it is far from guaranteed, the fact that he was at WrestleMania XL to watch Rhodes finish his story in person only made more fans believe he is WWE-bound.
