Despite not fitting the traditional mold of a pro wrestler, award-winning actor Paul Walter Hauser has begun competing on indie shows, facing off against the likes of Sami Callihan and Matt Cardona. And now, in an exciting revelation, Hauser has shared with The Wrap that he’s been in discussions with Mick Foley, a wrestler also known for defying the typical wrestling body, about potentially portraying him in an upcoming project.
“I’m literally talking to Mick Foley right now about the potential of playing him in a movie or limited series, I don’t know which, and I don’t know how, but he and I have become friendly. And I think he knows that that could be a really great stroke of genius in casting me to play him.”
Paul Walter HauserHauser is a lifelong wrestling fan, and last year, the 37-year-old appeared on both Dynamite and Rampage as part of an angle involving his Golden Globe award, which saw him hit over the head with a guitar by Jeff Jarrett. Additionally, back in 2019, he appeared on FS1’s WWE Backstage’s Promo School alongside Booker T. However, having now wrestled several matches himself, with his next scheduled for MLW’s Battle Riot VI next month, it appears he is on the way to being regarded as a wrestler in his own right.
