UK Promotion Reveals Whether Matt Riddle Has Refunded Them After No-Show

On Wednesday, it was reported that former WWE talent Matt Riddle had no-showed a Global Wrestling Kingdom event in the UK over the weekend, which he was booked to headline. This was a particularly bad look, as the show was for charity, and Riddle hadn’t even returned his deposit. And while Riddle would go on to acknowledge this incident on X, claiming he wasn’t happy with his flight, he dismissively said, “I could explain everything in great detail. I’m not lying, but I really don’t give a f*ck anymore.

And now the UK promotion has officially commented for the first time on their Facebook page, letting their followers know Riddle has since returned the money he was paid upfront. However, they disputed the issue regarding his flights, noting that Riddle’s manager had approved the flights five months ago and that the driver sent to collect Riddle from the airport waited several hours, as the wrestler failed to inform the promoter that he wasn’t coming.

“Mr Riddle has now paid back his deposit and has given us his word that he will reimburse his expenses too. We have not made any public statement on this unfortunate situation, but we think it’s important to set the record clear on Mr Riddle’s claims. His flights were booked and approved by his manager back in April … We informed him the name of his driver on Friday morning but got no response. Again, no issue was raised regarding his flight, nor did he let us know that he was planning on not showing up. After his driver waited several hours at the airport for him, we asked him where he was but didn’t get a reply back until Friday evening. Only then did he tell us he was unhappy with his flight and decided to take other bookings instead.”Global Wrestling Kingdom

39-year-old Riddle has often been described as his own worst enemy, as, despite being a talented MMA fighter and pro wrestler, he has managed to sabotage his careers in both industries. Yet when Riddle revealed he doesn’t care about no-showing bookings, dismissively saying, “If I miss 5 shows out of 100 in a year, eat it. I don’t care,” even his biggest supporters were shocked that he was so forthright about his unprofessionalism. Therefore, it is somewhat surprising he still gets so many bookings, although after this latest incident, he may find the offers significantly decrease.
