Triple H Almost Starred Alongside Samuel L. Jackson In Snakes On A Plane

Jeff Katz, who produced Freddy vs. Jason, Snakes on a Plane, and Shoot ‘Em Up, attempted a decade ago to create his own wrestling show called Wrestling Retribution Project. He would raise money through private investment and Kickstarter and filmed the first season, which featured Kenny Omega, The Good Brothers, Dr. Luther, and Sami Callihan under different names in 2011.

Sadly he would disappear without delivering to partners and backers what was promised, and to say his reputation was ruined would be an understatement. Despite this, he now appears to be trying to restore his name and possibly get back in the business and recently participated in a Reddit AMA. He would discuss working in WCW, his public failings, and reveal some interesting tidbits. Among them was that Triple H almost appeared in Snakes on a Plane.

Triple H – who I got cast in BLADE 3 for New Line – was originally supposed to play Sam Jackson’s partner in SNAKES. He was on board with WWE’s blessing re: schedule and one of the other producers killed it at the last minute. Terrible decision at multiple levels, for marketing alone. Alas.

Back in the early 2000’s Triple h was seemingly looking at breaking into Hollywood and had a supporting role as Jarko Grimwood in Blade: Trinity, the movie franchise starring Wesley Snipes. Subsequently, he was meant to star in a WWE Films made motorcycle western titled Jornada del Muerte written by Conan the Barbarian screenwriter John Milius but that deal fell apart. Additionally, he was going to appear in a Conan the Barbarian in a sequel titled King Conan: Crown of Iron, but due to Arnold Schwarzenegger’s role as Governor of California, it never materialized. He would eventually star in straight to DVD releases The Chaperone and Inside Out, which ended any hope of him becoming a star outside of wrestling.
