MJF Makes Huge Announcement During His AEW Return At Double Or Nothing (w/Video)

MJF has been sidelined since dropping the AEW Championship to Samoa Joe at Worlds End In December, with him subsequently undergoing shoulder surgery when alternative treatments failed. However, it was recently claimed that his return to AEW television was fast approaching, and after PWInsider.com reported that he was spotted flying into Phoenix, which is only a few hours from Las Vegas, MJF has returned at Double or Nothing.

The AEW original would make his presence known by interrupting his former tag partner Adam Cole’s in-ring promo, and after initially having a hug, would kick him low and hit a brainbuster. Then, while cutting one of his captivating trademark promos, which even paid tribute to Ric Flair when he dropped an elbow on the devil mask, he confirmed wrestling’s worst-kept secret: that he had re-signed with AEW by showing off a new tattoo on his calf.

28-year-old MJF broke into the business back in 2015, and while he initially tried to fast-track his career by auditioning for WWE’s Tough Enough, he wasn’t chosen to partake. Still, he wouldn’t let this discourage him, and he built his name up via the independent scene before joining AEW in 2019. Subsequently, thanks to his charisma, mic skills, and ability to blur the line between reality and storylines, he quickly climbed the ranks in Tony Khan’s promotion, thanks to feuds with names like Cody Rhodes, Chris Jericho, CM Punk, and Jon Moxley.
