Trailer Released For Upcoming “Chucky” Television Series

In 2018 it was announced that a TV series based on the 1988 horror movie Child’s Play was in development for Syfy. Franchise creator Don Mancini was on board to write all episodes and even direct the first episode. Plus, to the delight of fans, the original Chucky himself, Brad Dourif, was signed to reprise his role as the voice of Charles Lee Ray, with Jennifer Till also back as Tiffany.

Filming started last year but was disappointingly delayed due to worldwide events. However, resuming filming in March, and now the official trailer for the 10-part series titled “Chucky” has been released, confirming it will air on both the USA Network and Syfy and premieres on October 12th.

The series is a continuation of Cult of Chucky, the seventh film in the franchise, and Fiona Dourif will reprise her role of Nica from that movie. It should also be noted that the series is not intended to replace movies, with the plan being to continue the franchise in the future with additional films. Whether they are on the big screen or straight to DVD and streaming will likely depending on how Chucky does in the ratings.
