During this week’s episode of Raw, Penta took out Chad Gable in a backstage angle, with it later reported that this was done to give the former amateur wrestler time off due to an injury. And now, confirming this and adding to the story, PWInsider.com has reported that Gable is set to undergo an unspecified surgery in July.
Lately, 39-year-old Gable has been pulling double duty, as in addition to portraying his own character, the leader of the American Made stable, he has also been wrestling as the masked luchador El Grande Americano. Therefore, his absence will come as a massive loss to WWE, and given Americano is currently the WWE Speed Champion, it seems the title will need to be vacated in the coming days.
