Jim Ross Predicts Vince McMahon’s Next Big Move

Jim Ross firmly believes Vince McMahon remains tied to professional wrestling even after stepping away from WWE. On Grilling JR, the WWE Hall of Famer noted that true retirement does not fit McMahon’s fiercely competitive nature, and Ross expects his former boss to seek fresh opportunities in the industry, potentially by launching or acquiring his own promotion where he can fully deploy decades of expertise. Additionally, Ross ruled out any alliance with AEW, insisting McMahon will instead forge an independent path.

“He ain’t out of the game. Vince isn’t out of the game. That’s just not his makeup. What he’s going to do? One would assume he’ll have maybe some things to do with wrestling, because that’s where he made his way. So I don’t know, man. The world’s open to him … He’s going to steer his own ship, build his own boat, and take it from there. Off top of my head, I’d say probably not, and I don’t see Tony Khan wanting to do business with him either. I can’t see him migrating too far from the barn where all the animals are. That would be my guess. That’s all it is, is a guess, that he’s going to be doing something that allows him to display his product knowledge, and God Almighty, he’s got plenty of product knowledge.” – Jim Ross

In 2025, McMahon launched 14TH & I, a private investment firm targeting sports, media, and entertainment. Related LLCs were registered in late 2024, with the name referencing the historic Capitol Wrestling Corporation address. Former WWE executive Brad Blum serves as president, focusing on buyouts and growth deals. As of mid-2026, there is no public sign the firm is pursuing wrestling promotions. Meanwhile, Shane McMahon said in June 2025 that his father was enjoying life and rest while staying gung-ho about whatever comes next.
