Shortly before All In: Texas, Tony Khan took to social media to announce that Adam Cole was vacating the TNT Championship and a four-way match would take place to crown a new champion. This shocked fans as Cole’s pay-per-view match with Kyle Fletcher had been promoted in the days leading up to the show, so seemingly, whatever the injury was had only just occurred.
And now, potentially indicating it is concussion-related, Tony Khan has addressed the situation during the post-show media scrum, revealing that between Friday night and Saturday morning, Cole began to feel unwell following his match on Collision.
36-year-old Cole’s AEW career has unfortunately been beset with injuries, as in addition to a severely broken ankle, which kept him out of action for a year, he also previously missed nine months after being diagnosed with a career-threatening concussion at Forbidden Door in 2022. Still, both times, the former NXT wrestler was able to return better than ever, and therefore, fans will be hoping the same can be achieved this time.
