Thunder Rosa Addresses Injury & Rumor She Hid After Breaking Jamie Hayter’s Nose

Thunder Rosa has been a topic of conversation on social media in recent days, as fans have speculated that her back injury is fake and being done so she could time off, allowing her backstage heat to reduce. The heat apparently stems from her not being well-liked by her peers, and it was even claimed that after she accidentally broke Jamie Hayter’s nose at Battle of the Belts III, she hid in the bathroom out of fear of being assaulted by others on the roster.

Now though, while appearing on Busted Open, the AEW Women’s Champion has fired back at these claims. First, confirming that her injury is legit and AEW’s doctor hasn’t medically cleared her to wrestle. Then she adds that she’s a trained fighter and doesn’t run away from a confrontation, seemingly indicating the bathroom story is false.

I want to clear the air, this is not fake. This is not a work. I’m not comparing injuries to injuries. If I could f*cking walk, I can f*cking work. Dr. Sampson, he didn’t clear me to wrestle. I’m not cleared to wrestle. It’s not that I don’t want to do a match on Sunday, I can’t walk.

I don’t run from my problems. You can talk to me, my door is open. That goes for anybody. I have taken accountability when things have happened. I’m a straightforward person. Some people don’t like that and are afraid of that. I’m not. I’m a trained fighter, I don’t run away from sh*t. Stop reading stupid sh*t online.

With AEW not believing in stripping injured champions, following the model used in MMA, an interim AEW Women’s Champion will be crowned at next weekend’s All Out pay-per-view. And since that was announced, multiple sources have revealed the initial plan was for Rosa to drop her title to Toni Storm. Hence, it seems likely she will be the winner of the women’s women’s four-way match, which also includes Dr. Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, and Hikaru Shida. However, with the original plan now known, Tony Khan may now choose to put the interim title on someone else.
