Talk Is Jericho: Oct 2, 1990 – The Origin Of Jericho

October 2, 1990, is a special day in pro wrestling history! It’s the day that Chris Jericho had his first-ever wrestling match! The big event occurred at the Ponoka Moose Hall and was Chris Jericho versus Lance T. (the T stands for Thunder) Storm! They were third on the card in what ended up being a 15-minute time-limit draw. Chris runs down the days leading up to the big booking, the drive to the Moose Hall with Bret Como and Mike Lozanski, the scene at the venue when they arrived, and the locker room celebration and conversation post-match. In addition, he details the origin of his entrance music that day (Poison’s “Unskinny Bop”), the gimmick he refused to do, the heat caused by his black wrestling boots, and who inspired those super cool black and yellow tights.
