Hikaru Shida is enjoying her second reign as AEW Women’s World Champion, which could conceivably end this Sunday at AEW All In London when she’s forced to defend it in a 4-way against Saraya, Toni Storm, and Dr. Britt Baker DMD. Shida talks about the enormous Wembley Stadium show and its meaning to her. She explains the vast difference between her two title wins – the fans! Her first run came during the pandemic before crowds were allowed back at AEW shows. She shares her wrestling background in Japan, her run at Shimmer, her theater and movie actress work, and some of the biggest culture shocks about moving to the United States. She also discusses the Hikaru Shida character, what inspired the kendo stick, the extensive Kendo training she did, and how her family feels about her career in pro wrestling.
