WWE often licenses rock tunes and other music for its premium live events. Most recently, the company used the Aerosmith classic “Back In The Saddle” to promote Wrestlemania 42 returning to Las Vegas.
On Friday, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H took to X to announce that Nickelback’s latest single, “Bones For The Crows,” will be the official theme song of this year’s show of shows. “They’ve rocked with us for over 20 years, and their new song will soundtrack the Grandest Stage of Them All,” Triple H wrote. “@Nickelback’s “Bones For The Crows” is an official #WrestleMania theme song.”
WWE previously used Nickelback’s “Burn It To the Ground” as the theme for an episode of Raw, and the band has performed live at WWE’s Tribute to the Troops events. Despite Nickelback’s immense popularity, they’ve often been dubbed as “the most hated band in the world,” and a feature length documentary, “Hate To Love: Nickelback,” explored why the band has been subject to so many critical comments and negativity over the years.
One famous fan, however, is wrestling superstar and FOZZY frontman Chris Jericho who previously praised the group. “Super underrated,” Jericho said. “We toured with Nickelback, with FOZZY. I say tour, it was probably seven shows. Amazing band. It’s like going to a house party when you’re a kid and your friends have a band it’s fun. Name five Nickelback songs, I probably couldn’t, until I saw the setlist and I know every single one of these songs. Every one of them. You forget how many great songs they have.”
Wrestlemania 42 is set for Allegiant Stadium on April 18 and 19. A visualizer video for “Bones For The Crows” can be viewed below.
