FOZZY frontman and AEW star Chris Jericho recently made an appearance on The Big Show with Rusic And Rose. Jericho was asked for his opinion about fellow Canadians and rock peers Nickelback. The hosts asked if the band was underrated or overrated.
“Super underrated,” Jericho said (as transcribed by Fightful). “We toured with Nickelback, with Fozzy. I say tour, it was probably seven shows. Amazing band. It’s like going to a house party when you’re a kid and your friends have a band it’s fun. Name five Nickelback songs, I probably couldn’t, until I saw the setlist and I know every single one of these songs. Every one of them. You forget how many great songs they have.”
Nickelback is the subject of a new documentary, “”Hate to Love: Nickelback,” which is currently streaming on Netflix.
“They get attacked by the social media mob the same way I get attacked,” Jericho continued. “Why are you getting attacked? You’re good, successful, and people like you. We did that tour, we were in Atlantic City. There might be a million people in Atlantic City, but at the arena there were 10,000 people who love Nickelback. Isn’t that all that matters?”
